Life happens. And sometimes it happens to take you away from the things that you love. But, as with all things love-related, one can hardly stray for long! I have been (still am!) busy with my doctoral proposal. I had hoped to combine all my many research thrills in one bag of tricks, alas that was never meant to be. So, as I chipped away at my core in the gruelling search for the hallowed grail (also known as the Research Question – cue harps!) other interesting questions fell away. Many I mourned and some I happily shook off but one question in particular has hounded me. The question of love in the time of HIV and AIDS. It is too big and unwieldy to fit within the humble confines of a doctoral thesis. BUT, it is too close to my heart for me to put aside.
Sometime between midnight and three I awoke with a start. This didn’t have to fit anywhere. This is my research, I can just go ahead and do it. With your help of course. So today I sat down and I designed a survey. An anonymous one to be sure, but one that asks all the questions for the conversation that I need to have. I will use the responses here on the blog and in my other writings (all of which will be published or publicized online) and I will try my very best to tell the unheard love stories of HIV and AIDS.
Please honor me with your time and your truth.
